This week we say goodbye to our Miss Jan.
My how time flies. Jan joined Shirley and I eight years ago when I had two girls, a new office, and not enough office furniture. Together we have worn in the new office and tamed the incessant mass of paper that accompanies a law practice. We have changed technologies and reverted to old style ways on occasion. We have shared our family joys and anxieties.
Jan is a professional, the type of paralegal who doesn’t laugh or scream on those days when the boss declares “there is a piece of paper in here somewhere and I need it.” There are many things to be grateful for in our years together. So, we have sent her off with lunch at Meeting on Main (best fried chicken in the CSRA) and a Survival Kit of strawberry cake mix (her favorite), chocolates, and sundries. I look forward to our paths crossing again soon.
